Pharmasave Children's Parade
& Mayor's Picnic in the Park
This is a walking parade that meets at the Visitor Information Centre on the corner of Main and Forest Street. Children dress up in costumes according to each year's theme and walk from the Visitor Information Centre to Frost Park for a BBQ and games. Pre-Registration Required
Scotia Garden Mackerel Toss Have you ever seen a fish fly? Come on down to the waterfront and see more than one fly through the air as partners try to catch as many as possible, but there's a catch. To make things interesting, contestants have to be dressed in full oil gear (jacket, pants, boots & a Sou'Wester hat). This is a timed event, so the faster you go, the better!
Museum Day

Each year, museums across Yarmouth County open their doors for free and put on special activities and tours for the whole family. Be sure to check the brochure to see what times the museums are open!

Rum Running Races

Grab 5 of your buddies and get ready to race! Teams must consist of either all male, all female or mixed (3 male, 3 female). Teams will race to Seagull Island where they will pick up a barrel and carry it back to their dory. They then race back and the first team to get their barrel back (with the fastest time) wins!
Pre-Registration Required

Rudder's Parade Of Lights

It's time to put those old Christmas lights to good use! Dig them out of the attic and bring them down to Rudder's wharf to decorate a fishing boat and make it your own! At dusk, the boats will set sail and the parade will begin. Fireworks will be shot from the boats to signal the end of the parade. Pre-Registration Required.
